TMCH and domain blocking

Registering your brand in every extension that exists is neither feasible nor affordable. Blocking services stop others from registering it, at a fraction of the cost. We help you choose the right combination and manage it for you.

Find out which block protects you best

TMCH · Trademark Clearinghouse

The TMCH is ICANN’s trademark database. Recording your registered trademark there is the first step to protect it in the new domains.

Sunrise priority

You can register your trademark as a domain in each new extension before it opens to the public.

Registration notices

Anyone trying to register a domain with your trademark receives a notice, and you are informed when they register it.

Foundation for blocking

A TMCH recordal is required for most domain blocking services, such as DPML.

The protection mechanisms

GlobalBlock and GlobalBlock+

Exact-match blocking across hundreds of extensions from several registries. The + version also covers typo variations and homographs, often used in phishing.

DPML

Blocks your brand, and terms containing it, across all extensions of one registry operator with a single application.

AdultBlock

Keeps your brand out of adult-content extensions such as .xxx, .porn, .adult and .sex.

How we choose your protection

  1. 1

    Trademark recorded in the TMCH

The foundation: most blocks require your registered trademark to be recorded in the TMCH.

  2. 2

    Risk map

We look at the extensions and variations used to abuse brands like yours.

  3. 3

    Best combination

We pick the blocks that cover most for less and register only what you will actually use.

  4. 4

    Renewals and monitoring

We track renewals and monitor what blocking cannot cover.

If you want a blocked domain

Blocks are not final for you: if you decide to use a blocked domain, it can be unblocked and registered in your company’s name.

What you get

A regular report with findings ranked by priority, the evidence for each case and the status of every action in progress. No endless spreadsheets: only what needs a decision.

A dedicated contact at Neudomains who knows your brand, your products and your priorities.

And if your trademark is not yet registered in all your markets, we handle its international registration and its TMCH recordal, the foundation for any later enforcement.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a registered trademark?

Yes. Blocking mechanisms rely on a registered and validated trademark, usually through a TMCH recordal. We help you with the recordal.

Does blocking replace monitoring?

No. No block covers every extension and every variation. Combining blocking and monitoring is what closes the gaps.

Does it block .com or ccTLD domains?

No. Blocks work in the extensions of participating registries. For .com and other classic domains we recommend defensive registration and monitoring.
